Meet the P.1 children all eager and ready to learn!
We have settled into life in Primary One....
and we are having lots of fun finding our feet!
We have been learning our Nursery Rhymes in class and producing lots of super artwork connected to Humpty Dumpty, Twinkle Twinkle, Incy Wincy Spider and Baa Baa Black Sheep.
Every morning we have outdoor play with Mrs Harbinson's P.1. class. We always have lots of fun and learn new things in all the different areas.
Hickory Dickory Dock.
As part of our topic 'Nursery Rhymes', the children were asked to make clocks for the mouse in Hickory Dickory Dock. With help at home the project was a huge success and the children were proud as punch!
Wednesday 14th October.
We had lots of fun exploring number in P.1.
We are getting ready for Halloween by making our classroom a 'spooky' place with lots of Halloween art and decorations. We worked together to make pumpkins and even painted each others feet to make ghosts!!
We made a Jack-O-Lantern for Halloween!
With Garreth, our Fundamental skills coach, we have been learning how to balance on the floor and on apparatus.
I think we have mastered it really well!!
Houses and Homes.
Our topic this half term is houses and homes. We took advantage of all the different types of houses in and around our school environment and went searching for flats, bungalows, semi-detached and detached houses.
Master Builders in P.1.
The P.1. boys really enjoyed using the Lego to build different types of houses. Darragh designed some flats, Aaron a bungalow and Oisin built a lovely house.
Bee Bot fun in Primary One.
We had lots of fun exploring direction by using Bee Bots in our classroom. We were able to move them forwards and backwards and we were able to move them through the town!!
We were very lucky on Pancake Tuesday to be invited to the kitchen where Jackie showed us how to make delicious pancakes.
Maths Activities in Primary One.
In Primary One we are always having fun exploring Numbers. We especially love working in pairs to carryout different activities and showing off our brilliant work!!
World Book Day.
Thursday 3rd March.
As part of World Book Day, the P.5. children from Mrs Close's class came to read to us. It was so lovely for some brothers and sisters to meet and enjoy time together.
We really enjoyed the P.7 initiative 'Jego'. We were able to buy their delicious invention and the boys especially loved the little Lego figures!!! A very clever idea from our P.7 entrepreneurs!!
